NAP Membership Exam

A few weeks ago, I wrote the membership exam of the National Association of Parliamentarians. Today, I received notice that I had passed the exam, and in fact had achieved a score of 99%. Effective August 31st, I will be a member of the organization, and of the Ontario association as well. There are no local units in Ontario, but there is talk of starting one in the Kitchener-Waterloo area.

What I found most interesting, though, was the way the letter arrived. It was addressed to me at 289 Phillip Street, which is not quite my address (and does not even exist), though the postal code was correct. So imagine my surprise when it showed up for me at work. That’s right: because of the bogus address, the postal service erroneously delivered the letter to the RIM central mailroom, which then forwarded it to me through internal channels. I suppose they figured 295 Phillip Street was the closest match for the address on the letter.

You know you live close to your job when your personal mail occasionally gets delivered to you at work due to postal error!
